The Yamaha Racing Team has sensationally quit the premier Superbike category for the 2010 Australian Superbike Championship, instead focussing its efforts on the Supersport and Superstock categories, leaving the Stauffers searching for Superbike seats.
Ducati Xerox riders Noriyuki Haga and Michel Fabrizio split the victories at Imola on Sunday, with Japanese star Haga reclaiming the overall lead in the championship from American Ben Spies. An all-Italian battle for the leading positions was made up by Aprilia, with Max Biaggi and Marco Simoncelli taking a podium apiece.
