New Zealander to make Australian start in addition to Auckland.
Reigning AMA 250SX East champion Cole Davies has officially been named for the 2026 Boost Mobile AUSX Open this November, locked in for Geelong in addition to his previously-announced appearance in Auckland.
The Kiwi sensation – who spent time in the AUSX Supercross Championship earlier in his career – will make two starts in the 2026 series, with the New Zealand event (October 31) coming one week prior to the AUSX Open (November 7).
At only 18 years of age, Davies is recognised as one of the sport’s brightest emerging talents and already has a Monster Energy Supercross Championship to his credit after clinching the 250 Eastern Divisional crown in Philadelphia earlier this year.
“What I’m looking forward to most racing in Geelong is because it was the first ever supercross race that I watched as a kid,” Davies commented. “I’m looking forward to being out on the track this time and inspiring some more young kids.
“It’s one of the biggest supercross races outside of America, so it’s going to be a fun one. As a favourite race of mine growing up, I’m excited to come to the AUSX Open this November.”
The Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing rider had been due to contest the AUSX Open last year before a thumb injury ultimately ruled him out of contention. With New Zealand added to the Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship, the stage is set for a heroic homecoming in 2026.
Tickets for the 2026 series have gone on sale today, available through Ticketmaster. Complete event details are available through www.ausxopen.com.au.
