ROKiT Partzilla PRMX Yamaha has strengthened its line-up ahead of a manufacturer switch for 2027, recruiting former 250SX East champion Colt Nichols to its premier class program.

The signing adds an experienced name to Julien Perrier’s operation as PRMX moves from Kawasaki to Yamaha, with Nichols returning to the brand that carried him to his 2021 regional Supercross title.

“I’ve been talking to the team and working with Julien for several months and I’m happy we have been able to put a deal together that gets me back on a Yamaha where I’ve had a lot of success,” Nichols said. “I’m happy to be back on the Yamaha and this new YZ450 feels like home already.”

Nichols arrives following a 2026 campaign with Twisted Tea Suzuki, finishing 15th in the Monster Energy Supercross 450SX standings and claiming 16th in the Monster Energy SMX World Championship post-season. His Pro Motocross schedule was limited to four appearances.

Returning rider Mitchell Harrison will also return alongside Nichols in the 450 class after leading PRMX’s efforts across the past two seasons, while the team’s new-look 250 roster will consist of Hamden Hudson, Jack Chambers, Gavin Towers, and Evan Ferry.

Team manager Kraig Riese also remains in place as the Canadian-owned organization ends a decade on Kawasaki machinery. PRMX became a full-time American SMX operation in 2025 after previously splitting its commitments between the United States and Canada.
