Husqvarna has outlined its independent 250 class structure for the 2027 Monster Energy SMX World Championship, directly supporting AEO Powersports and BarX Racing following the closure of its factory team.

Both organizations will field Husqvarna FC 250 machinery across Monster Energy Supercross, Pro Motocross and the SMX post-season, complementing the previously announced Team Tedder 450 effort under the brand’s revised racing model.

“Partnering with the AEO Powersports and BarX Racing teams gives Husqvarna a strong platform in the 250 division as we enter a new chapter in SMX,” explained John Hinz, CEO of Husqvarna Mobility North America. Both organizations bring valuable experience and ambition, and we’re excited to support their efforts with our racing technology and technical expertise.”

AEO Powersports Husqvarna Racing Team plans to field a three-rider program, including two riders contesting 250SX West, 250MX and the 250SMX post-season – already confirming Carson Mumford as one of its riders. The team will also expand into the WMX championship during Pro Motocross.

The AEO Powersports operation has an established connection to Husqvarna through its dealership business, with three locations across Arizona and Southern California. The team will transition from KTM to Husqvarna for the new year.

“We are really looking forward to the change in brands, and now being one of the top Husqvarna-supported teams will help with our marketing efforts and add value to our partners in racing,” said AEO Powersports owner and team manager Jeremy Scism.

“With the return of Carson Mumford, we are looking to make an even bigger impact on battling with the factory programs and hopefully continue our success from last season.”

Toyota Redlands BarX Husqvarna intends to field up to six riders – including the returning Lux Turner – as it transfers from Yamaha to Husqvarna, continuing its development-focused approach with a combination of established professionals and emerging talent.

“Moving to Husqvarna gives us an opportunity to build something special,” commented BarX Racing co-owner Myron Short. “We believe in the motorcycles, the people behind the brand, and the direction we’re taking as a team.”

The two 250 programs will operate alongside Rocky Mountain ATV/MC – Monster Energy – Team Tedder – Husqvarna in the premier class, establishing three supported teams for the manufacturer in 2027. Complete rider line-ups for AEO Powersports and BarX Racing are still to be announced.
