Monster Energy CDR Yamaha’s Jed Beaton is currently evaluating options to contest the final three rounds of Pro Motocross 2026 in the United States.

Speculation surrounding Beaton’s AMA plans has continued to build, recently linked to an independent effort while training out of AUS Ranch in North Carolina.

It comes at an opportune time for the in-form 28-year-old, with the final three Pro Motocross rounds – Unadilla, Budds Creek, and Ironman – all featuring after Australian motocross concludes.

“Nothing is set in concrete at the moment,” Beaton told MotoOnline. “It was looking good there for a minute, and now it’s sort of hard because they’ve got such a long series and for someone to be like, ‘Oh, I want to come over and do a few races,’ it’s hard for someone to go, ‘Oh, yeah, no worries, we’ve just done like 30 rounds, we’ll put another person on and give a hand.’ But I understand that, and it is super-difficult.

“At this stage, I’m trying to buy a bike and sort of just do it myself. So that’s sort of gone back to the plan at the moment – I’ve got a few more contacts that I’ve reached out to, and I’m really trying to make it happen because it’s one of the things that I haven’t done.

“I went and raced [Pro Motocross] when I was riding for Honda, but it was not planned and not really set up to go and race – it was just a last-minute thing. So I feel like I didn’t get to do it properly, and I would really like to do a couple of rounds and do it properly.”

In addition, Beaton has expressed interest in representing Australia at the Monster Energy Motocross of Nations (MXoN) in Ernee, France, on October 2-4, with the high-profile Lawrence brothers set to skip the event in 2026 as they take a break from off-season racing.

As a result, riders such as Beaton, two-time event winner Kyle Webster, Kayden Minear and Jake Cannon have emerged as contenders for selection, with Australia again set to race with numbers one, two and three following last year’s MXoN victory.

“Yeah, for now, I’m definitely in [for MXoN],” Beaton continued. “I really like that track, and it’s just whether I’m selected or not. I think if Kyle [Webster] was definitely fit enough to do it, it would be good to go with Kyle. I think it would also be decent for us to go and do a race together where we’re not actually competing [against each other].

“And obviously, with the Lawrences not going, the pressure is not as severe. I guess we just get thrown into the deep end and then just say, ‘Here you go.’

“Kayden [Minear] is riding well at the moment, so if they could sort something out and get him on the team, it’d be cool. Jake Cannon is also over there. And I’ve heard many different stories of who the team will be, so I’m not really sure. But closer to the time, I’m sure we’ll know.”
