Reigning Australian SX1 champion Dean Wilson is in line to defend his crown in the 2026 Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship, confirming he will be in attendance at Townsville’s opening round on October 3.

The 34-year-old had indicated late last year that he intended to continue in AUSX for 2026, however, a late call – and podium result – for the World Supercross Championship (WSX) opener in Canada had made Wilson’s plans less certain in recent weeks.

It’s all but certain that Wilson will complete the full AUSX season, targeting a third title after previously winning the 2023 and 2025 championships with Honda Racing. The Yarrive Konsky-led organisation is yet to formally announce its supercross roster for this year.

“Looking back from last year [in] AUSX Supercross – my favorite time of the year,” Wilson posted on social media. “Last year was a very tough/trying one with losing my mum at the first round, being thousands of miles away, but was also such a bittersweet season as how well it went. I know she was watching down on me giving me a little push.

“I love coming back to [Australia] every year. Not only do I love the country, but the people, the banter and shit talkin’, the coffee/food, my race team Honda Racing Australia, the race series of AUSX Supercross. Stoked to start the season off at round one in Townsville [on October] third – hope to see you guys there.”

Wilson has been on a largely international schedule in the latter stages of his professional career, already successfully defending his British Arenacross title in 2026, and claiming three 450SX top-10 results across the final five rounds of Monster Energy Supercross with Quad Lock Honda.

In addition to Wilson, Quad Lock Honda team regular Christian Craig has been heavily linked to the Australian series in recent weeks, as has 2024 SX1 champion Joey Savatgy, despite being sidelined due to a dislocated wrist since the Denver Supercross at the beginning of May.

Honda Racing will hold both number one plates in AUSX this season as Ryder Kingsford prepares to defend his SX2 championship after defecting from Monster Energy Yamalube Yamaha to Honda at the end of last season.
