Stepping in for Dean Ferris at the Appin ProMX round.
Queenslander Ryan Alexanderson has been named as a fill-in for the injured Dean Ferris at Penrite Racing Empire Kawasaki, set to line up alongside Brad West at Appin’s fifth round of ProMX on June 14.
Four-time MX1 champion Ferris was caught up in the multi-rider first-turn incident at Toowoomba, sustaining multiple back and rib injuries that will sideline him for Appin.
In his absence, Alexanderson has been drafted into Penrite Racing Empire Kawasaki’s MX1 program following his recent split with JPM 360 Developments Kawasaki after four rounds. He will campaign a KX450 alongside returning teammate West at Appin.
It will mark the second stint under the Tyson Cherry-led operation for Alexanderson, who previously competed with the team in MX2 at the beginning of the 2025 season before heading to Europe to contest the EMX250 Championship.
A timeline for Ferris’ return has not been disclosed, leaving the door open for Alexanderson to contest additional ProMX rounds beyond Appin.
