Agueda will remain on the 2027 Motocross World Championship calendar, while the MXGP of Extremadura has been confirmed as the series’ second Spanish round next season.

The latest calendar update confirms that Agueda will host the MXGP of Portugal on May 22-23, extending the venue’s long association with the world championship.

The Portuguese circuit first hosted a grand prix in 1985 and the 2027 edition will mark its 28th world championship event.

Agueda has remained a regular fixture on the MXGP schedule in recent seasons, with Pauls Jonass taking his first premier class overall victory there in 2024 before Lucas Coenen swept the round in 2025, and world champion Jeffrey Herlings won the 2026 edition.

The second change applies to the Spanish round scheduled for April 17-18, which will now be known as the MXGP of Extremadura and staged at Merida. It had previously been listed as the MXGP of Spain, with the updated naming confirming Extremadura as the host region for the event.

Spain will again feature twice on the 2027 world championship calendar, with the MXGP of Andalucia opening the season on February 28, before the additional Extremadura round follows in April.
