Lining up despite dislocated shoulder and fractured scapula.
Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing has confirmed that Malcolm Stewart will contest San Diego’s second round of Monster Energy Supercross 2026, despite sustaining a dislocated shoulder and fractured scapula.
Stewart exited the 450SX main event at Anaheim 1 after his involvement in the multi-rider incident alongside Justin Barcia, Austin Forkner and Jason Anderson, but has since been cleared to ride.
“I got the green light to go racing in San Diego,” Stewart commented. “Unfortunately due to what happened at A1, I got my results back and there are some fractures that are in the scapular area of my shoulder blade.
“My dislocated shoulder went back in well though, so no surgery is needed, and everything from here on out is going to be pain-related. I’m a little sore, but at the end of the day, I feel good enough to go out there and give it a shot for San Diego and go race.”
The team confirmed that Stewart returned to riding late this week alongside his Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing teammates onboard his FC 450 Factory Edition and will attempt to return to competition at Snapdragon Stadium this weekend.
