Raceline Husqvarna TDUB Racing Team is continuing to evaluate its future, team owner/rider Todd Waters has confirmed as part of a wider plan to strengthen its position as a development-type feeder program.

The former national motocross champion sits fifth in the 2026 MX1 standings with one round remaining, having been Raceline’s sole full-time rider following the early-season departure of Reid Taylor.

Now 36, Waters – whose racing career also appears up in the air at this point – is currently weighing up options for both himself and the Raceline Performance-operated team beyond this weekend’s final round of the Australian outdoors at QMP.

“For me, we are [the] Husqvarna [team], which is obviously part of the KTM Group,” Waters told MotoOnline. “I love working together with Kyle [Blunden], and I see [Raceline] being a development program, trying to bring riders through our team and putting them onto orange bikes for winning championships.

“That’s what I would like to see and that’s what we are working towards. We’ve already got it in the process – we’ve got the grassroots riders, but it’s obviously hard because the other brands have big budgets and riders quickly get snapped up by them.”

Over recent seasons, Waters has been joined by a variety of riders alongside him, however, maintaining continuity has proven challenging. He said that balancing the roles of team owner and rider – alongside a range of other projects – has prevented him from dedicating 100 percent of his focus to the team.

“One thing is for certain, that’s that it has been a massive struggle for me to race and do the team, as well as the [TDUB] riding gear and then Raceline Performance – I haven’t done the best job,” explained Waters. “So, when I hang the boots up, that’s what I want to be focusing on – [putting] 100 percent into the race team, helping out the riders, and building those platforms for them.”

With KTM Racing Team – which is operated in-house out of the KTM Australia headquarters – already signalling that it doesn’t intend to formally field the team at Townsville’s opening round of Boost Mobile AUSX, Waters has also now suggested that his Gold Coast-based Raceline team’s participation in the supercross series is on pause.

“Unfortunately, we won’t be there either,” he added. “I run a junior development team, and I love helping the kids out and doing that sort of stuff. We’ve got some good riders at the junior Aussies that we want to be there for, as well as our development program. We’re taking the truck down there, and it’s been booked since January. That’s our plan, Junior Aussies, where Raceline Performance will be with our Husqvarna crew.”

It’s unclear if Raceline will contest any additional rounds of AUSX: “We don’t really have many options. It keeps getting raised with me to get riders from America, and I don’t really want anything to do with it, to be honest with you. Like I said, I’m about the grassroots and helping out the kids, and it just doesn’t sit well with me – I would prefer to see that budget go into our Australian riders and building them.”
