New Quad Lock Honda signing Cameron McAdoo says ‘it’s exciting to help build a team’ as he prepares for the 2027 Monster Energy Supercross season, with his sights set on contending for a 250SX championship once again.

Under the ownership of Australian Yarrive Konsky, Quad Lock Honda has made a concerted effort to develop its program into a 250SX title-winning team, in line with a directive from American Honda.

McAdoo – who spent seven seasons with Mitch Payton’s Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki team – represents a key piece of that effort, with Quad Lock Honda set to build around the three-time 250SX race winner.

“I think it’s exciting to help build a team with winning potential in the States,” commented McAdoo. “I’ve watched the team grow for the last few years – they’ve won with Max [Anstie] multiple times, and it’s exciting to be a part of trying to realize the same goal [championship] for the first time, for us both.

“Obviously I had a really long stretch with the Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki team – I was there for seven years. So to be honest, I was looking for change just in general. I raced once with Yarrive [Konsky] in 2018 at the AUSX Open, and I started my career on a Honda.

“I’ve carried multiple red-plates, but carrying that out until the end [of the season] is what I have struggled with, right? So that’s my biggest goal, is to make a change – maybe within myself – to be able to do that.”

Injuries have disrupted the Iowa native’s past two seasons in the Monster Energy SMX World Championship, with a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) sidelining him for much of 2025. A fractured hand sustained at this year’s Salt Lake City Supercross finale then ruled him out of Pro Motocross, before he returned to finish 11th in the final 250SMX standings.

McAdoo finished fifth in SX2 at the AUSX opener in Townsville following limited seat time aboard his CRF250R. Both rider and team will now work to build familiarity with the new package ahead of the October 31 round at Auckland’s North Harbour Stadium.
