A heavy crash in 450MX moto one forced Garrett Marchbanks to the sidelines for the remainder of the round at Washougal, with initial scans following the impact indicating that ‘nothing was broken’.

The Monster Energy Kawasaki rider qualified second in the premier class and looked poised to continue his impressive form throughout the motos, before an early crash in race one prematurely ended his day with an arm injury.

While on-site scans revealed that nothing was broken, the 24-year-old is set to undergo further evaluation this week to determine the full extent of the damage – benefiting from two weekends off in the schedule.

“I’m pretty irritated with how the day ended today,” admitted Marchbanks. “I was feeling really comfortable and fast on the track – I just had an unfortunate crash coming out of the rollers. My back-end started to swap, and I ended up landing on my arm pretty awkwardly.

“I got checked out by the Alpinestars medical crew and confirmed nothing was broken. I’ll head back and get an MRI on Monday and go from there… [I’m] hoping a bit of rest during the two-week break will do it some good.”

In his first season with Kawasaki’s factory 450 program, Marchbanks has impressed with four top-five finishes, highlighted by a season-best fourth overall at Thunder Valley. He currently sits seventh in the 450MX standings with three Pro Motocross rounds remaining in 2026.
