Wildcard riders have been named for the 2026 MXGP of Australia on September 18-20, featuring a total of 21 riders across MXGP, MX2 and WMX.

In MXGP, Rhys Budd (MotoCoach Elite Racing Honda), Dylan Walsh (KTM Racing Team) and Souya Nakajima (Monster Energy Yamalube Yamaha) will headline the domestic regulars.

International duo Walsh and Nakajima are both stepping up to 450 machinery for Darwin after spending the season in Australia racing MX2 outdoors, lining up in addition to Budd, Jacob Sweet, Cooper Holroyd, and Ryley Fitzpatrick.

In the MX2 division, Byron Dennis (KTM Racing Team) and Jet Alsop (Pro Honda Racing) will be joined by Deacon Paice, Riley Burgess, and Thomas O’Neill at Hidden Valley Raceway, representing a formidable line-up of Australian talent.

A strong contingent of female competitors will also contest the event, headlined by defending AMA WMX champion Lachlan Turner, the American who is set to make her MXW World Championship debut with Monster Energy Yamalube Yamaha.

Turner will be joined by Emma Milesevic, Madi Simpson, Sienna Giudice, Felicity Shrimpton, Darci Whalley, Leah Rimbas, Makayla Rimbas, Samantha Macarthur, and Stephanie Turnbull, while both Charli Cannon (Honda Racing) and Taylah McCutcheon (JPM 360 Kawasaki) are notable absentees.

The Northern Territory’s Australian grand prix marks the final round of the 2026 MXGP World Championship for the second-consecutive year at the purpose-built Hidden Valley venue in Darwin.
