It was a strong weekend at Appin’s opening round of the 2019 Pirelli MX Nationals for Yamaha Motor Australia’s factory-supported teams despite horrendous conditions, as CDR Yamaha Monster Energy’s Kirk Gibbs scored a podium on debut, while Yamalube Yamaha Racing’s Jay Wilson claimed second in the MX2 category. The YZ65 Cup was also scheduled to take place, however was later cancelled due to the conditions.
