Moto one collision draws early end to Pro Motocross opener.
Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Eli Tomac has been cleared of any major injuries after his Fox Raceway crash scare, with a neck strain forcing the four-time 450MX champion to withdraw from the remainder of the event.
After qualifying 10th in his first Pro Motocross appearance with KTM, Tomac launched to a top-10 start in the opening encounter, before colliding with Garrett Marchbanks (Monster Energy Kawasaki) on lap one.
The 33-year-old was slow to his feet following the incident and was subsequently evaluated by the on-site Alpinestars Mobile Medical Unit, where he was cleared of any major injuries. The team has indicated that he will undergo further evaluation during the week:
‘Four-time 450MX champion Eli Tomac qualified 10th on his KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION this morning, however, an unfortunate crash on the opening lap of moto one brought an early end to his day. Initial on-site scans revealed no broken bones after straining his neck in the incident, and he will undergo further evaluation during the week.’
The incident continues a challenging run for the Colorado legend and delivers an early setback to his 2026 Pro Motocross title aspirations. It remains unclear whether he will line up for this weekend’s Hangtown National.
