Extends Australian campaign following collapse of World Supercross.
Current SX2 world champion Max Anstie has committed to the remainder of the 2026 Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship, extending his initial one-off appearance at Townsville into a full-season campaign following the collapse of World Supercross.
The British contender was originally scheduled to contest only the opening round in North Queensland, but has since pivoted to the remaining four events of AUSX with ongoing support from MXRP, according to the team.
Anstie showed front-running speed at the opener with MXRP onboard the 2027 YZ250F, topping SX2 qualifying before recording a DNF in the opening final. He rebounded to claim victory in final two following a post-race penalty for Michael Hicks, ultimately finishing sixth overall.
“Max Anstie is officially locked in to race the full Australian Supercross Championship with MXGP!” the team announced through social media on Thursday evening.
An extended Australian schedule will provide valuable gate-drops ahead of the 2027 Monster Energy Supercross Championship, in which Anstie had already been confirmed for ClubMX Racing, which had extended into his WSX alignment with Rick Ware Racing prior to the series canceling the season-remainder.
