The World Supercross Championship (WSX) has unveiled revised team rosters ahead of the season-opening Canadian GP on August 8, with an assortment of rider line-up changes made across both SX1 and SX2 – including the unexpected inclusion of Cameron McAdoo.

Reigning teams champion Quad Lock Honda will be without last year’s SX1 runner-up Joey Savatgy for the Calgary opener as he continues to recover from a wrist injury, with Dean Wilson set to start alongside Christian Craig aboard the CRF450R.

It’s expected that Savatgy could complete the WSX season, with Wilson previously pencilled in to defend his Australian AUSX title with Honda Racing unless a late shuffle instead sees him drafted into the world championship altogether.

In addition, Kiwi Brodie Connolly and McAdoo have been named as the team’s SX2 riders, with the Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki team regular understood to be lining up on board his usual KX250 under the Konsky Motorsport Group (KMG) banner for Canada as part of a one-off lease arrangement.

It’s then expected that McAdoo will transfer to the official Quad Lock Honda program – where he will almost certainly race full-time in 2027 – ahead of Birmingham’s second round of WSX on October 10, once his contract with the Mitch Payton-run Kawasaki organization expires.

Multiple SX2 world champion Shane McElrath – previously named at Quad Lock Honda – has opted against returning to WSX this year, with the experienced American instead focusing on preparations for the 2027 Monster Energy SMX World Championship.

With the WSX season moved forward to open in August for the 2026 season, while various championships are still being held, it has prompted an assortment of necessary rider movements for Calgary’s first round.

Elsewhere, Mike Alessi will replace Enzo Lopes at MotoConcepts Racing in SX1, while young talent Luke Fauser stands in for Hector Assuncao at 595 Racing in SX2. Jack Chambers, meanwhile, will replace Jake Cannon – currently focused on EMX250 – at Venum Bud Racing Kawasaki in SX2.

Round one of WSX commences next weekend inside Calgary’s McMahon Stadium, opening a six-round world championship that concludes with the New Zealand Grand Prix in Christchurch on December 5.
