Liqui Moly Beta Factory Racing has signed Derek Kelley for its newly-formed 250SX program ahead of the 2027 season, the team entering the 250SX class of Monster Energy Supercross for the first time.

Expected to field the RX 250F in each division of 250SX, Kelley – who has signed a two-year commitment through 2028 – will transfer from the MX6 Racing Kawasaki team after finishing ninth in 250SX East this season.

“I am thrilled about the opportunity to join the Beta Racing Team for the coming years,” Kelley commented. “The team has built an exceptional environment where everyone is fully committed. I am also excited to work on the development of the new bike and can’t wait to get started!”

Team manager Carlen Gardner added: “Expanding our program into the 250SX class is a massive milestone for Beta USA, and bringing Derek Kelley on board is the perfect fit to kick off this new chapter. Derek has repeatedly shown the grit, speed, and work ethic it takes to compete with the best in the sport.

“His experience racing at the highest level, paired with his technical feedback, will be vital as we develop and race the RX 250F in Supercross. We are excited to welcome Derek to the Liqui Moly Beta family and can’t wait to see what we can accomplish together.”

In addition to its 250 plans, the Liqui Moly Beta Factory Racing team has also already confirmed that Benny Bloss and incoming recruit Shane McElrath will form the 450SX line-up for the next two seasons.
