Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing rider set for 2025 edition.
AMA Supercross Rookie of the Year Cole Davies is the latest high-profile rider signing for the 2025 Boost Mobile AUSX Open in Melbourne on November 22, with the Kiwi revelation set to line up in the SX2 category.
A breakout Monster Energy Supercross season this year saw the 17-year-old claim two main event victories on his way to P3 in the final 250SX West standings, establishing him as one of the sport’s most sought-after young prospects.
Joining the Lawrence brothers for this year’s edition of the AUSX Open international, the Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing rider will contest the SX2 class, adding to the firepower of the highly-anticipated race inside Marvel Stadium. He had previously raced the AUSX series full-time in 2022.
“I’m genuinely excited to be lining up at the AUSX Open in Melbourne this November,” commented Davies. “It’s about as close to a home race as it gets for me, and I’m stoked to give back to a community that’s supported me from the start.
“The AUSX Open has grown into one of those iconic events I’ve always wanted to be part of, even with how full-on our schedule is in the US. A massive thanks to Star Racing Yamaha for backing me on this – I’m pumped to get a couple of extra gate drops in before we kick off the 2026 season!”
AUSX Open director Kelly Bailey expressed excitement for the Davies addition, signalling that this year’s version of the long-standing event – celebrating 10 years since its inception in 2015 – is shaping up to be one of its best yet.
“Cole is one of the most promising young riders in world supercross, and his return to Australia is a massive moment for fans across both Australia and New Zealand,” Bailey said. “With the Lawrence brothers, Australia’s best, and fierce international contenders still to be announced, this is shaping up to be the strongest and most hyped lineup we’ve ever seen.”
