Supercross returning to Western Australia and New Zealand.
An expanded five-event 2026 Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship schedule has been unveiled, including a landmark return to both Western Australia and New Zealand.
While the venues of the series are yet to be announced, AUSX will expand from four events to a total of five this year between Queensland’s opening round on October 3 to the New South Wales finale on November 28.
In between, New Zealand (October 31), Victoria (November 7) and Western Australia (November 14) will all play host to supercross in the upcoming season, underscored by a striking new ‘This Is Supercross’ campaign that has also been launched by AUSX promoter AME Group.
“Our mission continues to be to deliver AUSX Supercross to an even broader national and international fanbase and generate mainstream awareness,” AUSX CEO Adam Bailey commented. “It’s critical for us to strike the balance between incredible world-class venues and regions hungry for supercross, action sports and entertainment.
“Bringing New Zealand back onto the Boost Mobile AUSX Championship schedule after seven years and to Western Australia for the first time in over a decade are huge moments for the sport and for fans who have been asking for it for a long-time. We’ve heard them and hope they pack the stadiums this October/November. We can’t wait to share what we have in store!”
Supercross hasn’t been in Perth since the short-lived Super-X series visited WA in 2009, while an attempt for AUSX to travel to WA in 2021 didn’t eventuate, and then the World Supercross Championship did host a largely successful double-header at HBF Park in 2024.
New Zealand, meanwhile, most recently staged a round of the Australian championship with the S-X Open Auckland – doubling as an FIM Oceania event – during 2019, but AUSX hasn’t travelled back across the Tasman since.
It’s understood that Redcliffe will no longer feature as the opening round, instead linked to a high-profile Townsville debut in North Queensland. It is unclear if the annual AUSX Open international event will return to Marvel Stadium – the Victorian round suggested to be considering Geelong for the first time since 2018.
There has been no word whether the New South Wales event will take place at Sharks Stadium in Cronulla for a second-consecutive year, or if AUSX could instead potentially take the finale to Newcastle – previously hosting the series in 2023 – or Wollongong, which was on the 2024 schedule.
In further signalling the ongoing success of the sport in Australia, Boost Mobile will continue as the series naming-rights partner in 2026, while Monster Energy returns as presenting partner of the entire championship.
