A dislocated wrist will sideline AEO Powersports KTM’s Carson Mumford for the remainder of the 2026 season, due to undergo surgery this week after being injured at Budds Creek.

Mumford has been exceptional during Pro Motocross this year, currently positioned seventh in the 250MX standings after finishing inside the top-five at Spring Creek, Washougal and Unadilla.

After racing to fourth in the opening moto, Mumford went down in the early stages of moto two, which has spelt the end of his season altogether.

“Not the post I want to be making, but here we are,” Mumford confirmed. “Another rider took me out on the first lap of moto two, which ended up dislocating my wrist. I have surgery on Friday and a long road of recovery ahead of me – I’ve done it before and I know I can do it again.

“I’m confident in my circle and team that I’ll be back swinging next year. This year I rode for free with one goal in mind, to prove I was a top-level guy again in hopes to extend my career. I achieved that goal this MX season by finishing top-five consecutively the last six motos, with two moto podiums.

“I want to thank AEO Powersports KTM for giving me the opportunity to show everyone what I’m capable of and my mechanic [Dillan Stanfield]. They have believed in me whole heartedly and I can’t wait to work with them again next year. Thank you to everyone who reached out, and to everyone who supports me – see you in January.”

Mumford has already re-signed with AEO Powersports KTM for next season, with the team linked to the Husqvarna brand as part of a new factory-support program being for 2027.
