Quad Lock Honda rider's injury isn't expected to require surgery.
450MX mainstay Christian Craig has revealed he is recovering from a T3 spinous process fracture sustained at Southwick, with the injury not requiring surgery.
Quad Lock Honda’s Craig, 34, crashed heavily toward the end of moto one yesterday afternoon, causing a red flag stoppage while being attended to trackside.
“Unfortunate crash in moto one today at Southwick,” Craig explained. “Landed very odd and felt something tight in my back when I tried to get up – got to the hospital and end up having T3 spinous process fracture. No surgery [is required] and [it] will heal on its own! Really appreciate everyone that has texted and checked in on me.”
After completing the opening lap in 23rd, Craig raced forward as high as 14th prior to crashing out of the weekend altogether. It’s unclear when he will be fit to return, with the World Supercross Championship opener in Canada on August 8 expected to be his priority.
