Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Liam Everts claimed his first moto victory of the 2026 season in race two, although a turn one crash in the opening encounter restricted him to fifth overall. The breakthrough win arrives at the perfect time for the Belgian, with his home grand prix at Lommel next on the calendar.

Speaking of breakthroughs, Karlis Reisulis claimed the first MX2 podium of his career at Loket with a 4-3 moto scorecard, further reinforcing that both he and brother Janis – who finished one position behind in fourth overall – are riders to watch in the years ahead.

It was a difficult weekend for Red Bull KTM’s Lucas Coenen, who attempted to ride through hematomas around his left hip that caused compression of the sciatic nerve following his crash at the British GP the previous weekend. The Belgian withdrew from Saturday’s qualification race and missed Sunday’s motos altogether, surrendering the MXGP red plate to Jeffrey Herlings in the process.

Kay de Wolf was back in action at Loket! The MXGP rookie impressed with sixth in moto one, before a first-turn crash and a damaged motorcycle forced him to retire from the second encounter.

Red Bull Ducati’s Calvin Vlaanderen saw his weekend end before it truly began in the Czech Republic, with a crash during warm-up and a subsequent head knock ruling him out of both motos. It’s been a difficult fortnight for the 30-year-old since claiming his season-best fourth overall at the MXGP of South Africa.

The racing became a little too close for comfort in moto one between Triumph Factory Racing teammates Guillem Farres and Camden McLellan, with the latter going down on the final lap following contact between the pair. They shook hands in the immediate aftermath, although at the end of the day a moto win is a moto win. McLellan remains well within striking distance of the MX2 title with six rounds remaining.

It was a day to remember for the Honda HRC Petronas program, as Jeffrey Herlings and Tom Vialle finished first and second overall in MXGP, while Ruben Fernandez added a fourth-place result. Herlings was untouchable across the weekend, sweeping all three races and extending his championship lead to 49 points over Lucas Coenen. Remember Herlings’ double DNF due to bike issues earlier this season? It just goes to show that it’s never over until it’s over in motocross, with momentum having shifted firmly in the Dutchman’s favour in recent rounds.

Loket was another tough assignment for Sacha Coenen, who continues to race with a freshly broken collarbone. The Belgian battled through to 7-7 moto finishes for seventh overall, keeping his MX2 title hopes alive.

Beddini Racing Ducati Factory MX2 Team once again called upon EMX250 rider Simone Mancini at Loket, marking his second MX2 appearance of 2026 as he filled in for the injured Ferruccio Zanchi aboard the Desmo250 MX. The Italian rewarded the team with a career-best 12th overall after recording 11-13 moto finishes.

An aggressive pass attempt on Farres in moto two saw defending MX2 champion Simon Laengenfelder hit the ground, and ultimately withdraw from the race due to losing feeling in his right forearm. He had this to say following the race: “I tried to block Farres, but I made a mistake. I was a bit too battered and bruised to keep hanging on for another 30 minutes. I need to reset, refocus and go again in Lommel.”
