Western Australian Kayden Minear will make his anticipated 250SX debut when the Western Division resumes in Denver this Saturday, Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing has confirmed.

Minear joins two-time champion Haiden Deegan for the final rounds of Monster Energy Supercross after graduating through the SMX Next program.

After finishing second in the Australian MX2 championship in 2024 and impressing during a one-off Scouting Moto Combine appearance at Ironman – where he won a moto on his way to second overall – Minear signed for Star Racing prior to the 2025 season.

Last year saw the 18-year-old win the SMX Next World All-Stars title in the St. Louis double-header, in addition to the Hangtown Moto Combine with a 1-1 result.

Minear won the opening SMX Next round of the year at Anaheim 2 in his maiden Supercross appearance earlier this year, before largely being struck by misfortune in the rounds since. Last weekend in the mud race at Philadelphia, he recovered from a first-turn incident to finish P6.
