Wholesale changes made ahead of 2026 ProMX season.
A unique opportunity with Monster Energy WBR Yamaha has opened for MX2 prospect Seth Burchell, who will contest his second full season in the category during the 2026 Penrite ProMX Championship.
The Echuca-based dealer team – which serves as Yamaha’s official MX3 development program – has created a position in the quarter-litre class for the 20-year-old after he recorded P8 in last year’s standings with the satellite-run Bulk Nutrients Echuca Yamaha Race Team.
Burchell has also relocated to Victoria in the off-season and aligned with the Beaton’s Pro Formula training group under Ross Beaton, with preparation progressing positively following a back injury sustained late last year.
“It’s been a big off-season for me,” Burchell told MotoOnline. “I’ve made some huge changes in my program and moved down to Victoria to train with Ross Beaton, which has been awesome so far – I’ve never done this much riding in my life [laughs]. It’s been exactly what I needed coming back from my broken back after I crashed at the final round of AUSX in Adelaide.
“Everything has just come together really well this year. My deal with the Monster Energy WBR Yamaha Team is pretty sick considering they’re the official MX3 team for Yamaha, not MX2. But between Yamaha and WBR, they found a way to open up an MX2 spot for me on the team, which I’m super appreciative of.
“It’s not an ‘off the side’ kind of deal like a lot of people think, so it’s unreal – I’m really looking forward to making the most of the opportunity starting this weekend in Wonthaggi.”
Monster Energy WBR Yamaha will field both Jack Deveson and Hayden Draper in the MX3 category, while former riders Koby Hantis and Ky Woods continue to receive Yamaha support in their transition to the MX2 division.
