A new-look 250 class roster has been revealed by Yamaha in the lead-up to ProMX 2026, headlined by Noah Ferguson and multiple Japanese champion Souya Nakajima in MX2, alongside American number one Lachlan Turner in MXW at Monster Energy Yamalube Yamaha.

Ferguson, 23, has been title-threat since entering the division full-time in 2021, earning third overall last year with the KTM Racing Team, while Nakajima is set to make his Australian professional debut.

In addition, Turner – sister of Yamaha’s AUSX SX2 revelation Lux Turner – joins the team for 2026-2027 in addition to her US-based WMX title defence, adding the Australian championship to her full-time schedule in collaboration with Yamaha Motor USA.

“2026 is shaping up to be a massive year in motocross for Yamaha in Australia,” commented Yamaha Motor Australia motorsport manager Scott Bishop. “The sales success of the YZ range in the last couple of years has allowed us to pour that money back into racing and reward our customers.

“We are supporting more riders, continuing our investment in our long-standing teams, as well as the sport, and added in the bonus program to be available to all Yamaha riders. It’s also pleasing to welcome our international guests for 2026. We didn’t sacrifice any Australian rides, just added to our programs, and I thank the teams for their hard work and dedication in making this happen.

“But maybe the most important things are that in the last few years, world-class riders have been coming to Australia as Yamaha Motor Europe, Yamaha Motor Japan, and Yamaha Motor USA have trusted our teams to take care of them and see our championships as a benefit to their programs.”

In the MX3 category, Monster Energy WBR Yamaha will field Jack Deveson alongside highly-rated New Zealander Hayden Draper, while Seth Burchell is set to compete as an MX2-supported rider within the program. Former WBR riders Koby Hantis and Ky Woods will also receive Yamaha support in stepping up to MX2.
