MotoCoach Elite Racing Honda has signed Queensland teenager Jet Alsop for the 2027 season, set to make a full-time transition into the MX1 ranks after stepping up in the later stages of the outdoors this year.

Alsop moved to MX2 in 2026 after finishing runner-up in MX3 the previous year, placing 13th in the standings with a season-best sixth at Traralgon while racing under the Pro Honda Racing support program.

The highly-rated 19-year-old then gained his first MX1 experience at the Queensland Moto Park (QMP) season-finale, finishing 11th in moto one and 14th overall for the round – triggering his graduation for next year.

“I am super-excited for this opportunity,” commented Alsop. “They wanted me on the team as much as I wanted to be there, and the whole program and partners of the team will give me the best opportunity to achieve my goals in 2027.”

Team owner Leigh Gainfort added: “We are excited to have Jet joining the team – it’s great for us being such a new team to bring on a great rider like Jet. The team as a whole has made good progress with the bike in the 2026 season and believes someone of his calibre can take the team and the bike to the next level.”

After recording two MX1 podiums with Nathan Crawford – following his exit from KTM Racing Team – in a performance that ultimately elevated him to the Honda Racing team, MotoCoach Elite Racing will turn its attention to developing Alsop. The team also backed Rhys Budd on his way to P9 in the MX1 standings, despite starting the year in MX2.

MotoCoach Elite Racing is currently fielding Brandon Steel and Canadian Preston Masciangelo in the 2026 Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship, with Budd withdrawing from the series late in the pre-season. It’s unclear if he will continue at MotoCoach alongside Alsop next year.
