French prospect to remain with KRT in MX2 for 2027 season.
Kawasaki Racing Team has signed Mathis Valin to a multi-year contract extension, set to remain with the factory team in the MX2 World Championship for 2027.
Since joining Kawasaki ahead of the 2025 season, Valin has continued to build on the promise that saw him crowned EMX250 champion that year.
The 19-year-old Frenchman has overcome an injury-disrupted start to 2026 and currently sits sixth in the championship standings, highlighted by a maiden grand prix victory at the MXGP of Germany.
“I’m very happy to sign again with Kawasaki,” said Valin. “Now, we will continue to move forward together as everyone involved is doing a great job. We will keep working hard for the second part of the season, and of course for next year – hopefully it will be an even better one!
“The beginning of the season was quite hard with my injury, but now we are on a good way, and everyone is happy, so I’m very pleased to stay in the same environment.”
Valin and Kawasaki Racing Team MX2 will continue their 2026 campaign this weekend when the MXGP World Championship heads to Agueda, Portugal, for round 10 of the season.
