Honda Racing’s Wilson Todd has been sidelined indefinitely ‘to prioritise his long-term health and wellbeing’, the team announced leading into round five of Penrite ProMX at Appin.

Todd currently sits fourth in the MX1 standings after recording 6-4-3-8 overall results across the first half of the series, but will be absent this weekend and potentially beyond.

“Wilson has been managing ongoing issues associated with years of injuries and racing at the highest level,” Honda Racing team owner Yarrive Konsky explained. “Together, we have made the decision that the priority right now is his health.

“Wilson is one of the toughest competitors I have worked with and nobody wants to be racing more than he does. At this stage we are not placing timelines or pressure on his return – we want him to focus on getting healthy, enjoying the process, and making the decisions that are right for him long term.”

Konsky’s Honda Racing operation will feature a trio of headline partners across MX1, MX2 and MX3 this weekend, naming Austar Toy Haulers (Ryder Kingsford and Heath Fisher) and Safe-Style (Kayd Kingsford) as incoming title sponsors alongside longtime partner Berry Sweet (Kyle Webster and Alex Larwood).
