World Supercross has secured a one-off wildcard appearance from Haiden Deegan, set to contest the SX2 category in Argentina at the Buenos Aires City GP on November 8.

The 19-year-old current American 250SX West title-holder had been widely linked to the world championship in recent months, with confirmation coming that he will headline the Argentine round.

“I’m pumped to be heading overseas for the first time with World Supercross,” Deegan commented. “I can’t wait to meet new fans and grow our fan-base internationally. I’m looking forward to some great racing and good battles. Argentina – get ready, it’s going to be a good one.”

Tom Burwell, CEO of the World Supercross Championship, added: “Haiden Deegan is one of the most talked about riders in the sport, and his decision to debut internationally with World Supercross is a massive statement.

“It’s proof that we’re the stage the world’s best riders want to be on. Fans in Buenos Aires will witness history when Haiden lines up as part of our strongest ever rider roster.”

It’s understood that Deegan’s deal to make his lucrative international debut comes after plans for the high-profile Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing rider to race at the AUSX Open – alongside the Lawrence brothers and Cole Davies – in Melbourne, Australia, fell through at the 11th hour.

World Supercross has adopted a clever wildcard strategy for the upcoming 2025 season, with a series of headline riders deployed throughout the five-round series, without directly interfering with the wider, full-time title prospects.

Reigning AMA 450SX champion Cooper Webb, current SX1 number one Eli Tomac, multiple world champion Ken Roczen, double 250SX East winner Tom Vialle, and American standout Justin Cooper have all been named for select appearances throughout the series, now in addition to Deegan.

Round one of World Supercross 2025 will take place in Kuala Lumpur for the Malaysian GP on October 18, with Argentina scheduled to host the second round at the Oscar & Juan Galvez Racetrack in Buenos Aires.
