Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki riders DNF season-finale.
A crash through the whoop section prematurely ended the Salt Lake City main event for Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki teammates Seth Hammaker and Cameron McAdoo, with both riders unable to continue following the incident.
The duo had been locked in a tense battle for fourth position with 10 minutes remaining in the 250SX East/West Showdown inside Rice-Eccles Stadium, before entering the whoop section together and neither emerging from the other side.
McAdoo crashed heavily midway through the section, while only moments later Hammaker went down in similar fashion. Teammate Levi Kitchen managed to avoid the incident and would ultimately secure a second-place finish.
In the aftermath of the crash, McAdoo explained that beyond general soreness and whiplash, no additional fractures were sustained.
“Thank you everyone who reached out to check in on me,” said McAdoo. “I was transported to the hospital and had my neck and back checked out, and everything came back clear of any fractures.
“Considering the crash, I’m very grateful that I’m just extremely sore with some pretty good whiplash.”
Hammaker admitted frustration following the incident, with the Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider now turning his attention toward the upcoming Pro Motocross season.
“I’m definitely bummed to end the night like this,” Hammaker mentioned. “The season had its ups and downs, but I’m proud we made it through it all. Of course, I would have loved to finish the night and end it on the podium again, especially with how good I felt all day.
“The speed was there in qualifying and the heat race, but sometimes that’s just racing. We’ll regroup, heal up, and start getting ready for the outdoors.”
McAdoo’s return to Supercross following almost a year on the sidelines proved eventful, with the 28-year-old recording three podium finishes and seventh overall in the 250SX West standings, despite also missing Birmingham and St. Louis through injury.
Meanwhile, Hammaker completed the 250SX East championship second overall, highlighted by his sole victory of the 2026 season at Daytona’s eighth round.
