Venum Bud Racing Kawasaki has announced that Australian teenager Jake Cannon and teammate Francisco Garcia will contest round six of the 2026 Pro Motocross Championship at the Southwick National.

The opportunity has been described by the team as a ‘reward’, with both riders beginning their respective EMX250 campaigns in exceptional form. After four rounds, Garcia currently leads the championship standings, while Cannon sits third overall.

The Queenslander’s season is highlighted by podium finishes at the opening two rounds, before he secured a maiden overall victory at the MXGP of Trentino via consistent 2-2 moto scores.

“This special appearance in the United States is a reward for the incredible beginning of [the] season both riders have had so far on the international scene,” read the official announcement from the team.

“Francisco Garcia is currently having a remarkable season in the EMX250 European Championship, where he currently leads the standings. Meanwhile, Jake Cannon is living up to his potential, third in the championship with his first victory a few weeks ago.

“To recognise their performance, dedication, and progress throughout the season, team Venum Bud Racing Kawasaki has decided to give its two young riders the opportunity to experience one of the legendary events in American motocross – Southwick, an iconic race on the AMA Pro Motocross calendar.”

Southwick marks Cannon’s second appearance in Pro Motocross competition, after contesting the RedBud National in 2024 as part of the Quad Lock Honda outfit. He raced to 31-18 moto scores in the highly-competitive 250MX division for 21st overall.
