Broken collarbone and dislocated wrist for 250SX East contender.
Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Pierce Brown has outlined the extent of his injuries following Birmingham’s first 250SX Showdown of the year, sustaining a broken collarbone and dislocated wrist.
Brown isn’t certain when he will be fit to return to 250SX East, but is aiming to get back behind the gates as soon as possible, according to an update released today.
“Disappointed to make this post,” Brown announced. “Last Saturday wasn’t my night, dealt with some adversity in the heat and had to pay for it in the main with track position. Ended up catching a rock on the face of a jump and crashing while making a pass, resulting in a broken collarbone and dislocated wrist.
“Right now I’m not quite sure what to expect for recovery time, but I’m going to do everything in my power to be back at the races ASAP. Apologies to the team and all my supporters – we’ve put too much work into it to have it ripped out from under us like this. Head down, we’ll be back.”
After missing much of last year through injury, Brown won the Eastern Division opener in Arlington, before finishing third at Daytona and fifth in Indianapolis. He is currently P5 in points, despite exiting round four on the weekend.
