Triumph teammate Forkner to undergo surgery on damaged hand.
An achilles tendon injury will sideline Jalek Swoll for an extended period and Austin Forkner is also recovering from a newfound hand fracture, Triumph Factory Racing has announced.
Swoll, 25, is in a contract season with the British manufacturer and faces an uncertain future after damaging his achilles again in Birmingham during timed qualifying.
In addition, Triumph has confirmed Forkner will be out for the remainder of Monster Energy Supercross after injuring his left hand – which had already ruled him out following an injury in Houston – again while training recently and he will return for 250MX outdoors.
Triumph released the following update on social media: After his incident in Birmingham, Jalek has unfortunately been diagnosed with a damaged right achilles tendon and will undergo repair surgery this week followed by a period of rehabilitation.
Austin has sustained a fracture in his left hand following a recent practice crash and will have surgery this week to ensure he is back to full fitness for the upcoming Pro Motocross series, where he will race the TF 250-X as planned. Speedy recovery, boys!
