The penultimate day of action at Loretta Lynn MX marked further delays at the 2023 Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship, which led to the title-deciding motos being moved to Saturday.

After an impressive 11th to second ride in the first moto, GasGas team rider Mark Fineis made life much easier on himself in moto two of 250 Pro Sport with the holeshot.

Fineis went on to win ahead of Daxton Bennick (Yamaha) and Gavin Towers (Yamaha), while a crash for Julien Beaumer (KTM) saw the opening race winner forced to settle for P17, effectively ruling him out of title contention.

After a breakthrough ride to claim a moto win in 250 B, Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green’s Krystian Janik was brimming with confidence for the second moto of Schoolboy 2, winning over Enzo Temmerman (Kawasaki) and Landin Pepperd (GasGas). Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Casey Cochran returned from his dislocated shoulder for P5.

After trading wins throughout the week, NSA Yamaha Amateur Factory Team rider Leum Oehlhof and Jeremy Fappani (KTM) had the chance to square off once more in the second moto of 450 B Limited. However, a tale of two starts ultimately gave Oehlhof a significant upper-hand and he won from Evan Stewart (Husqvarna) and Tommy Callow (KTM).

Another rider carrying momentum into Friday’s action was Husqvarna-mounted Deacon Denno, winning Supermini 2 over Landen Gordon (Kawasaki) and Seth Dennis (KTM), while the second moto of 85cc Limited saw Darren Pine (GasGas) win ahead of Nolan Ford (KTM) and Braxtyn Mes (Husqvarna).

After an assertive victory to open the week, KTM rider Easton Graves looked to maintain his control of the 65cc division entering moto two, which he did ahead of Jackson Vick (KTM) and Eidan Steinbrecher (GasGas).

Additional winners on Friday included Robert Weiss (250 C Jr Limited), Klark Robbins (Schoolboy 1 B/C), Ronnie Renner (Senior 45+), Chase Haynes (250 C Limited), Mayla Herrick (Girls 11-16), Jarrett Tincher (Micro 3 4-7 Limited), Brody Jones (Micro 1 4-6 Shaft Dr Limited), Kameron Buckman (Micro 2 4-6 Limited) and Kannon Zabojnik (Micro 3 7-8 Limited).
