Captured: 2026 Supercross Rd13 Nashville

Unpacking moments and narratives that shaped the weekend.

A lot unfolded at the Nashville round of Monster Energy Supercross 2026, with the Music City delivering a memorable event in a variety of ways. Relive the weekend that was through illustration form in Captured.

Nashville was a clutch victory for Honda HRC Progressive’s Hunter Lawrence, who benched all the nerves from being involved in a late-season title chase to deliver a pivotal win at this stage in the series. This is one of those races we may look back on in the future as being a defining moment – also, the Gibson guitars/HRC collaboration was pretty sweet, too!

Round 13 marked the customary moment where Team Tedder’s Justin Hill reminded everyone just how talented he is. A technical track, vicious conditions, high consequences, and Hill battles for a 450SX podium. We don’t see it all the time, but when we do, it’s nice to watch.

Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Seth Hammaker expressed that he’d have to push the envelope further to challenge series leader Cole Davies, and at Nashville, he did exactly that. The added intensity brought crashes and two penalties – one being for course cutting, and the second for passing a rider while doing so. That said, his initial P3 became a fifth-place result.

Fresh off a ClubMX Yamaha team contract extension, Devin Simonson delivered his first career podium following Hammaker’s penalty. That’s got to be a good feeling for both parties, right?

The 250SX East podium was so close yet so far for Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Daxton Bennick. He was P2 with a handful of laps remaining, although a tangle with Hammaker relegated him to fifth. Then, Seth’s penalty gave him P4, although he was clearly a podium contender all afternoon.

Nashville may be the one that got away for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Eli Tomac. P1 in both qualifying sessions, victory in the heat race, and it appeared that all systems were go for the number three. It wasn’t to be in the main event, with a poor start and a slick circuit leaving him helpless – scoop tire, anyone? – in battling for a top 10. A late crash moved him from eighth to 12th, and he goes from tied atop the 450SX standings to 15 down.

Of course, the Music City comes with its own unique flavor, with the podium finishers receiving guitar trophies. When in Nashville!

Jeremy McGrath’s Holeshot King on Broadway that took place on Friday night brought out some of the sport’s most decorated stars, with McGrath going head-to-head with winner Ricky Carmichael in the final. Did we enter a time machine and go back to 2001? As well, there was anybody from Jeff Emig, to Damon Bradshaw, Chad Reed, Jeff Stanton and a bunch more dropping the clutch downtown.

This was the reason for both Joey Savatgy and Malcolm Stewart’s sub-par results inside Nissan Stadium. The incident occurred at the beginning of the main event, leaving each to fight through the field for the remainder of the race.

The ever-popular Dean Wilson started his first of five Monster Energy Supercross appearances for 2026 at Nashville with the Quad Lock Honda program, recording an impressive 11th-place result in the competitive 450SX class. It’s always great to see Deano back behind the gates and how about Quad Lock, fielding four riders in the premier class between Wilson, Shane McElrath, Christian Craig and Savatgy!

Both comedian Theo Von and musician Brantley Gilbert – pictured above – were on hand in Tennessee, as the latter held grand marshal duties for the event. Defending 450SX champion Cooper Webb even had a special Fly Racing collaboration with Gilbert, marking what was a neat integration by all accounts.

It was very nearly a top-five finish for Troy Lee Designs Red Bull Ducati’s Dylan Ferrandis, who crossed the line in fifth on his Desmo, but he received a one-position penalty post-race for course cutting. The program is coming along, even with development solely coming down to Ferrandis in Supercross.
