German Simon Laengenfelder will defend his MX2 World Championship in 2026 under the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing banner, making the move from the De Carli-run effort to join Andrea Adamo at the in-house organization.

The 21-year-old will pilot the KTM 250 SX-F as he looks to become Red Bull KTM’s first back-to-back MX2 champion since 2019, transitioning across from the Rome-based De Carli structure for his sixth full GP campaign on KTM machinery.

Laengenfelder will stand as the sole MX2 entry within the Austrian-based roster, while former world champion Adamo is stepping up to MXGP for his rookie campaign in the series’ premier class.

He secured his maiden MX2 world crown this year – the 16th in Red Bull KTM Factory Racing history – on the back of a standout campaign that delivered six overall victories and 12 podium finishes across the 20-round calendar.
Meanwhile, the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing De Carli team will continue its long-term development focus in 2026, fielding Belgian twins Lucas Coenen in MXGP and Sacha Coenen in MX2.
