Highest placed Red Bull KTM rider at fifth Supercross round.
Glendale’s fifth round of Monster Energy Supercross was another sign of progression for 450SX revelation Jorge Prado, who topped qualifying and claimed a heat race victory on his way to fifth position in the main event.
The four-time world champion was again impressive at State Farm Stadium, setting the fastest qualifying time with a 56.451s before delivering a wire-to-wire victory in heat two.
In the main event, Prado was beaten to the first corner by Vince Friese (International Supercross Race Team Kawasaki) and Hunter Lawrence (Honda HRC Progressive), emerging from the opening lap in sixth behind Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Justin Cooper.
Cooper and Prado traded places throughout the race’s duration, eventually claiming fourth and fifth, respectively, with Glendale marking another positive step in the Spaniard’s Red Bull KTM Factory Racing reunion.
“I think actually my start was very good, but Friese… he was even better,” Prado explained. “I was so close to him on the gate that he, you know, I really didn’t have much space coming to the first corner, but still managed to get around pretty okay and make some passes on the first lap.
“I was behind Justin – I was pretty much catching him – and then I couldn’t pass him, and then he would go a little bit and I catch him back and I think I got a little bit tight when I got into that situation and you know, started getting arm-pump and couldn’t really relax. I just brought it home in P5, so would say it’s a solid night.
“I’m getting better and better,” he admitted. “P1 in qualifying, P1 in the heat race, P5 in the main event – I think it’s a good progression – I’m pretty happy about my riding, my effort. Thanks to the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team, they’re doing a great job, we have a great bike, and hopefully I can put it back in the box soon.”
Glendale marked Prado’s 11th-career start in Monster Energy Supercross, with his consistent front-running performances in 2026 underlining his indoor potential as he sits seventh in the premier class standings.
