Training incident results in fractures and ligament damage.
Injuries to both wrists have brought an early end to French journeyman Anthony Bourdon’s 250SX West season in Monster Energy Supercross 2026, with the Partzilla Blaster Power PRMX Kawasaki rider requiring surgery following a training crash.
After finishing 12th at Houston’s Triple Crown on Saturday night, Bourdon unfortunately crashed this week and sustained two broken wrists – including ligament damage – while preparing for the upcoming Glendale round.
“The SX season is already over… it’s hard to find the words,” Bourdon said. “The bike cut out during a practice session – the result [is] multiple fractures in both wrists and damaged ligaments. Surgery is mandatory.
“This was clearly not the start to the season I wanted. Having arrived at the last minute, I struggled to adapt to the bike, and the results didn’t reflect my true ability. We had just found some solutions and it all comes to a halt once again due to a mechanical problem.
“Thank you all for the support, my loved ones, my friends, and my family, who are always there for me. Time to recover.”
Bourdon adds to the 250SX injury woes for the privately-run Kawasaki program, with teammate Jack Chambers also sidelined due to a broken wrist sustained at the San Diego round.
A refreshed roster of Leum Oehlof and Hamden Hudson will feature in the 250SX East division, with high-profile Australian Luke Clout also more recently linked to PRMX from Arlington’s eastern opener.
Fortunes haven’t been much better in 450SX, where team rider Cade Clason has also been under the injury cloud after sustaining a broken collarbone in Houston on the weekend, and Mitchell Harrison sits 21st in the premier class standings following four rounds.
