Jett and Deegs! The pairing met once more on track at RedBud for a brief time in moto two before Lawrence suffered the first of two crashes. It was an ‘off’ day of sorts for the high-profile duo, with Deegan’s chances impacted by a first-turn crash in moto one, while the deep RedBud conditions appeared to test the defending champion’s recovering foot.
The patriotic theme celebrating the Fourth of July weekend was on full display across a variety of machines at RedBud, including Levi Kitchen’s Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki pictured here.
That’s 250MX career podium number one for Ryder DiFrancesco! It’s undoubtedly been a bumpy road for the former amateur standout, with each burst of momentum seemingly halted by injury. The talented Californian finally broke through at RedBud, with 6-3 moto scores earning him a well-deserved third overall.
Meanwhile, Jo Shimoda’s 3-1 moto scores earned him second overall and, more importantly, the 250MX red plate. The Honda HRC Progressive rider holds a four-point advantage over RedBud winner Cole Davies entering Southwick.
It was another tough outing for Red Bull KTM’s Aaron Plessinger, which has largely been the story of his 2026 season. After recording a season-best finish of fifth overall at High Point, ‘The Cowboy’ was sidelined at RedBud following a first-turn crash in moto one.
If an image could talk, this one would deliver simply this: ‘REDBUDDDDD!’
250MX moto one featured a great battle between Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing teammates Cole Davies and Caden Dudney. The 16-year-old Dudney refused to give an inch, holding the lead until just three laps remained before Davies made the decisive pass.
A storm swept through RedBud on Saturday, leaving both the track and venue in disarray. The crew worked tirelessly to restore the facility, and Sunday’s conditions were exceptional, making the turnaround a remarkable effort by everyone involved.
Fan favorite and nine-time world champion Antonio Cairoli was on track at RedBud, posting a 12-13 scorecard for 12th overall. Solid result at 40-years-old.
A first-turn crash in moto one saw Deegan climb from the very back of the field to 10th. He rebounded to third in race two, claiming sixth overall.
The American theme extended to the Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing helmets and goggles at RedBud.
And just like that, Hunter Lawrence makes it back-to-back overall victories. The Honda HRC Progressive rider was arguably the class of the 450MX field at RedBud, with a last-lap tip-over in moto one denying him a perfect 1-1 scorecard. Even so, he reclaimed the red plate from brother Jett and now holds a three-point advantage entering Southwick.
