Red Bull KTM rider has been sidelined since opening round of 2025 season.
Defending 450MX Pro Motocross champion Chase Sexton is set to return to racing at the RedBud National this weekend, after spending the opening five rounds of the season sidelined due to an opening moto incident at Fox Raceway.
Sexton said that he was ‘banged up’ after round one, and has largely been radio silent since then.
Six weeks later, the news was announced on the KTM USA social media account that the 25-year-old would return this weekend, with Sexton himself then confirming the news.
“Fourth of July weekend just got a whole lot faster!” read the KTM post. “Defending Pro Motocross 450MX Champion Chase Sexton is back in action at RedBud MX, and we’re looking forward to having our entire Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team lined up on the gate for round six.”
Sexton added: “Better late than never, but we [are] back. [I’m] excited to return to racing this weekend at RedBud.”
The RedBud race weekend presents as a home race, as such, for the Illinois native, as the Michigan circuit is the closest to where he grew up on the fixture.
Last year’s RedBud National was where he began to make inroads toward his title campaign, posting a 1-1 performance and claiming his second overall of the series.
