Team Australia’s 2025 Motocross of Nations (MXoN) roster will almost certainly be bolstered by the return of the US-based Lawrence brothers, with the pair signalling their intent to defend the Chamberlain Trophy at Indiana’s Ironman Raceway between October 3-5.

After claiming an emphatic first-ever MXoN victory for the green and gold alongside Kyle Webster last year at Matterley Basin, the Lawrences are expected to contest the MXGP and the Open categories, featuring the number one and number three on their factory CRFs.

Australian riders – even including the Lawrences – have to apply for their position on the MXoN squad each year through Motorcycling Australia (MA), with the Honda HRC Progressive regulars officially putting their hands up for the 2025 edition on American soil.

“Nominations for the 2025 Motocross of Nations are now officially closed and, as expected, Jett Lawrence and Hunter Lawrence have nominated and will 100 percent be locking in their spots to defend the Chamberlin Trophy for Team Australia,” a social media post from Team Australia announced.

Attention now shifts to the MX2 seat within Team Australia, with last year’s trophy-winning rider Kyle Webster and current national MX1 points-leader Jed Beaton – himself a former MX2 World Championship number four – understood to be in contention for the seat.

“As for the third rider, the battle is still on!” team officials stated. “With a crop of incredibly talented Aussie riders putting in strong results, the final selection is yet to be made, but rest assured, it’s going to be one of the most competitive line-ups we’ve ever had.”
