Progressive Insurance Ecstar Suzuki’s Ken Roczen has revealed that he will race round four of the 2023 Pro Motocross Championship this Saturday at High Point.

Roczen finished fourth in last year’s 450MX standings outdoors, taking three podiums throughout the season, including an overall win in the third stop of the series at Thunder Valley.

It was previously confirmed that Roczen would sit out the Pro Motocross season, instead electing to focus on defending his World Supercross Championship (WSX), with the opening round set to commence on 1 July at Villa Park, Birmingham.

After signing a three-year deal to race WSX earlier in the year, it looked as though Roczen had moved toward a Supercross-only arrangement for the remainder of his career, but will now be a surprise addition to Mt. Morris.

Roczen is a two-time outdoor champion in the 450MX class, winning the title in both 2014 and 2016 onboard Suzukis, and while it hasn’t been indicated whether he will compete in more rounds, it will be an opportunity to gain valuable points toward the SuperMotocross playoffs that commence on 9 September at zMax Dragway in Charlotte.
