A luckless Seth Hammaker has fractured his wrist just weeks out from the 2023 Monster Energy Supercross 250SX East season, at least ruling him out of the opening rounds.

The eastern region will commence in Houston, Texas, on February 4, with 22-year-old Hammaker to undergo surgery on Friday. It’s unclear when he will be fit to return.

“It’s of course frustrating to have an injury right before the start of the season,” said Hammaker. “My training has been going really well recently and I feel that my speed and fitness are up to the level needed to race for wins. This injury will set me back a bit, but my full focus is on mending the injury and getting back out there on the track to compete at the highest level.”

Hammaker was the 2021 Supercross ‘Rookie Of The Year’ and claimed two-consecutive podium finishes at the start of the 250SX West series in 2022 before being injured. He also secured eight top-10 finishes overall in the Pro Motocross season last year.
