Justin Barcia’s inspired charge through the field at Arlington 2 led him to a fourth-place finish after starting the race in 16th.

On the heels of a second-place finish in the first of three rounds in Arlington, the TLD Red Bull GasGas rider lined up looking for what would have been his fifth podium of the 2021 Monster Energy Supercross season.

A dismal start made his hopes of landing on the box an uphill battle. Barcia charged hard throughout the race, eventually finishing the night in fourth.

“My riding was awesome in the main event,” Barcia said. “I just pushed through and got as far as I could but unfortunately missed out on the podium, which is frustrating, but all-in-all it was a good ride and I’m looking forward to getting back up on the podium on Saturday.”

It’s been an impressive inaugural season for the TLD Red Bull GasGas team, having landed on the 450SX podium four times so far, with an all-new bike in the team’s first full season in the premier class. Barcia has shown consistency and been in the top five in all but four rounds so far this season, singing the praises of his MC450F after the race on Tuesday.

“The bike is really good,” he continued. “The team is good and I’m good, so we just need to nail those starts and we’ll be up there.”

They’ll get another shot at the podium and their second win of the season this Saturday, for the final round of the Arlington residency at AT&T Stadium.
