Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki press release:

Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Austin Forkner (No.38) and Jo Shimoda (No.30) will be heading to Houston, Texas, for the opening round of the Monster Energy Supercross this Saturday. The 17-race season will look a lot different with most stops on the schedule taking place in one location over the course of eight days. That is the case with Houston who’s NRG Stadium will host the first three rounds on January 16, January 19 and January 23.

Returning with a fire to claim his first championship, Forkner is ready to make 2021 his most successful season yet. And that isn’t an easy task as Forkner has taken 11 wins in the last three seasons. He’s looking to hone in on his experience and do what he needs to do to claim a title for the team.

Joining the team for 2021 is Shimoda who is excited to take what he learned in his rookie year and utilize it during his sophomore season. Shimoda’s best 2020 supercross result was fifth, and he only finished outside the top 10 twice.

“We are definitely happy to be going racing after such a crazy 2020. After so much anticipation, it’s going to be awesome to see the all-new Kawasaki KX250 hit the track. We know it’s going to be a bit different with the schedule, but we learned a lot last year in Salt Lake and what will need to happen in 2021 to be successful when you don’t get a full week off in between rounds. I know Austin is ready to finally earn a championship and Jo is confident that what he learned in 2020 will benefit him this season.” – Zach White, Team R&D Manager
