Troubles continue for Triumph Factory Racing to conclude 2025.
A torn calf muscle sustained at last Saturday’s Ironman National will draw an early end to Jalek Swoll’s SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) season altogether, with both he and the Triumph Factory Racing team targeting a return to complete fitness for 2026.
This misfortune of 2025 continues to plague the 25-year-old racer, who returned at the High Point National in June after missing the entire Monster Energy Supercross series due to a torn achilles encountered in the lead-up to the opening 250SX West round.
It’s suspected that lingering effects of the injury remain, with Swoll’s calf tearing in Indiana without a crash or dab, leading to the belief that overall weakness thanks to his time spent on the sidelines contributed to the tear.
“Unfortunately in qualifying over the weekend I tore my calf – no crash or dab in a corner, just landed [off] a jump and boom,” recounted Swoll. “We assume it was just weak from when I did my achilles and in that case there’s nothing I could’ve done.
“Between my thumb injury and not being able to practice during my time racing, and now tearing my calf, it’s been tough and I can proudly say that my body has had enough before I did… with that being said, me and the team have decided to sit out the rest of the year to get healed and ready to contend in 2026.
“[I’m] very proud of myself and the team for helping me get back to being competitive and on the box in such a short amount of time. The effort is there, and [I’m] excited to dog this off-season out. See you soon.”
Swoll returned to form quickly during the six Pro Motocross rounds contested this year, with a second-place overall finish at RedBud the highlight. Front-running pace in Washougal ultimately led to an opening-moto incident, and a controversial removal from the race, which he managed to rebound from in recent weeks.
