A first turn incident during the 250SX main event at Anaheim 2 has left Honda HRC Progressive’s Chance Hymas with a dislocated left shoulder, expected to sideline him for up to three Monster Energy Supercross rounds.

Hymas delivered a standout heat race victory during the series’ second visit to Angel Stadium, with the 20-year-old looking to build on his 2-6 results achieved across the opening two rounds of the 2026 season.

His night came to an abrupt end, however, when a multi-bike crash in the first corner of the main event resulted in a dislocated shoulder as he put his arm out to break his fall. Hymas would withdraw from the race immediately afterwards.

The team has since confirmed that his shoulder was put back in by the Alpinestars Mobile Medical unit on-site, and although further scans are yet to reveal the extent of the damage, it appears that he will miss the next three rounds before Supercross heads east.

“It was a bittersweet night for the team after a great start to the season,” explained team manager Lars Lindstrom. “It’s always extra frustrating when the riders are injured by something that wasn’t within their control, but that’s how it goes in racing sometimes. We are hoping that Chance’s shoulder injury is non-surgical and that he’ll be able to get back to racing ASAP.”

The injury marks a disappointing blow for the 250SX West title prospect, who returned to racing at A1 after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) during round four of last year’s Pro Motocross Championship.

With Houston, Glendale and Seattle all western division rounds, Supercross will transition to 250SX East in Arlington on February 21 for round seven in a three-week break for the west. The first 250SX East/West Showdown is scheduled for late March in Birmingham, where Hymas would likely return if he is ruled out of the next few races.
