P13 salvaged in Monster Energy Supercross return.
‘Damage control’ defined Cameron McAdoo’s return to Monster Energy Supercross in Denver on Saturday night, with the 250SX West contender enduring a mixed weekend that ultimately resulted in a 13th-place finish.
The Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider had been sidelined since Seattle, where he scored P5 before later discovering a fractured humerus sustained in a heat race crash, forcing him out of the following two rounds.
McAdoo’s return proved eventful from the outset, qualifying eighth before climbing to ninth in his heat after running as low as 18th. A two-position penalty for jumping on a red cross flag then relegated him to the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ), which he would go on to win.
A crash on the start straight then left him running at the rear of the field in the main event, before charging back to 13th by race’s end to complete his return.
“It wasn’t the day I was looking for, but it felt good to be back racing,” commented McAdoo. “We had some things go wrong early that put me behind right away, and from there it was just damage control all day.
“Going through the LCQ and having to fight from the back in the main definitely made it tough, but I just kept putting my head down and getting laps in. There are a few positives to take from it, especially just being back behind the gate and getting a full day in. We’ll keep working this week and come into Salt Lake ready to end the season on a better note.”
Prior to injury, McAdoo had emerged as a consistent force in 250SX West, collecting three podiums and two further top-five finishes across six rounds. The form marked an impressive turnaround after missing most of the 2025 Monster Energy SMX season with a torn ACL.
