Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki has confirmed team rider Garrett Marchbanks will be on the line for the second SMX Playoff race this weekend in St. Louis, after exiting the sole 250SMX moto in Charlotte.

Marchbanks, 24, entered zMAX Dragway as third seed for the SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) post-season, but his weekend would be cut short as a result of an early crash.

“I’m bummed with how today turned out,” commented Marchbanks. “I was excited to show what I could do in SMX after coming off my best outdoor season and coming into the series third overall in SMX points.

“The track was pretty loose and unpredictable in a lot of areas, making it difficult to ride, [so] I’m a bit banged up after my crash.”

Pro Circuit team manager Iain Southwell added: “We’re bummed that Garrett had a tough start to the SMX playoffs after such a great outdoors, but he’s a fighter and will be lining up [in St. Louis].”

Marchbanks has since slipped to 10th in the combined 250SMX standings, with double points paid this weekend in Missouri, followed by triple points on offer at the season finale in Las Vegas.
